Hello, and welcome to the Bizarro World; my name is Ada. I currently attend university in Scotland in a city two counties over. I am a final year undergraduate student of English Literature; I was literally and literarily lured over to the dark side as my main academic interest lies in the Gothic novel, Japanese Gothic, Victorian literature, and some ever expanding notion of something or other, which may mean Kristeva -- I'm not sure. I studied philosophy until Mill, Bentham, Kant and Aristotle drove me into a downward spiral of confusion with their moral theories that require an explanation for the explanation. My life (I would, at present, prefer not to make any change) seems to unfold like an on-going season 10+ of Seinfeld; I'm a big fan of the pop-in, women do love the snub (of course, to get them to avoid wearing big, old-fashioned sunglasses or pink lipstick it works for that, too)the Wednesday Call is great and there are some riddles that are for the ages (as in refusing the pie or... not having television). It fascinates me that Seinfeld has embedded itself so deeply into popular culture and lexicon; I wish some of mine would... the Call of Cthulu for bizarre people randomly ringing you up? EXIT STAGE LEFT, ADA. Anyway, when I'm around you will hear "Why did you do that, Ada?" and I will respond with "I took a risk!" :B I particularly enjoy drinking cocktails in the rain, hot coffee on cold winter days, walking around supermarkets browsing for products I may or may not wish to purchase in the future and eating Canadian Extra Mature unpasteurised cheese with Sauvignon Blanc wine while driving around solving mysteries in a van. Some of my very favourite things may include: Trolls, death metal, Suikoden, peacocks, Lucretia Merces, Byron, wine, Tarja Turunen, Larry David, luncheon with John Dragon, Patrick Wolf and the Hegg. Actually, the explanation for all the above was my reading of Tess of the D'ubervilles when I was fourteen... the world seems far bleaker now... |

 Marika is simply a delight. I think she is awesome. She looks so wonderful and is filled with passion while playing the viola. She's cute and makes me weak at the knees *bricked* Marika is the lovely touring violist from Arcade Fire who wears the same dress all the time. She is wonderfully awesome. I am proud to say that I waved to her and she waved back with a big smile on her face during the first part of the Neon Bible tour at the Barrowlands. I went to see them a second time and she blew me a kiss and gave me her setlist :) In the words of Jerry Seinfeld on that same blue dress Marika wears all the time "What in God's name is going on here? Is she wearing the same thing over and over again? Or does she have a closet full of these, like Superman? I've got to unlock this mystery!" She has added a few new dresses to her repertoire as of the 17th of August... a strappy number it is. Weird and wild stuff... But why? I know this question is upon the lips of those who read but rationality has and will continue to elude me for the rest of my life. File it under "The Mysteries of Life". Or blame it on Tess of the D'Ubervilles. On October 26th, she blew me a kiss and gave me her setlist. You know it. |
